Our Commitment
At BlueScope, sustainability is a fundamental theme in Our Purpose, and central to Our Bond and Our Strategy. We’re dedicated to identifying the environmental challenges and opportunities that matter most to our stakeholders and our success.
Here are just a few major outcomes of our sustainability initiatives thus far:
- 12% reduction in steelmaking greenhouse gas emissions intensity since FY2018.
- 50% of ferrous input for steel production is comprised of recycled/recovered steel.
- Collaboration with Australia鈥檚 leading iron ore producers on a pilot plant using a direct reduced iron electric smelting furnace.
